North Carolina A&T State University is an 1890 Second Morrill Land-Grant Act public university located in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Timeline 1940-1949

1941
Woodland Elroy Hall was the first graduate to receive the Master of Science degree.
1940
A&T conferred its first bachelors degree in instrumental music.
1942
Senior Army R.O.T.C. Program was begun.
1943

Barbara Canada becomes first female elected Student Council (Student Government Association) president. 

1945
First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt toured the campus with A&T President F. D. Bluford in March.
1946
The A&T Foundation was established on March 4th by the Board of Trustees.
A&T acquired the 96-acre land tract known as North Campus.
