About the Author

Rebecca Skloot is a science writer whose first book, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, took more than 10 years to research and write. She has a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a MFA in Creative Nonfiction. Oprah Winfrey and Alan Ball will be producing the film version of the The Immortal Life for HBO. 


Rebecca Skloot was scheduled to appear at NC A&T State University in the Spring 2011, but was unexpectedly unable to attend. An alternate date has not been announced at this time.
