Introduction to Bluford Library

Locations

In Bluford Library books are shelved in different locations. Each book has a unique call number on the label. Books about the same subject are grouped together on the shelves using the Library of Congress Classification (LC) System.

A&T Stacks are located on the second and third floor. Call numbers beginning with A-L are on the second floor and call numbers beginning with M-Z are on the third floor. Materials in the stacks can be checked out for three weeks during the regular semester and two weeks during the summer session.

A&T Black Studies is located on the third floor. Materials in this area can be checked out for three weeks during the regular semester and two weeks during the summer session.

A&T Gov Doc (A&T GSM Serials) Government Document, Serials & Microforms is located on the lower level. Materials in this area can be checked out for one week. However print peridicals and newspapers located in this area are for library use only.

A&T Microfilms is located in the lower level. Microfilms are for library use only.

A&T Ready Reference is located on the first floor behind the Reference Desk. Materials are for library use only.

A&T Reference is located on the first floor. Materials are for library use only.

A&T Reserve is located on the first floor. Textbooks in this area can be checked out for 2 hours library use only. Reserve materials can be checked out for 2 hours, overnight, 3 days or 1 week.

A&T Spec Coll is located at the University Archives on the second floor. Materials are for library use only.
