Introduction to Bluford Library

Searching the Online Catalog

Use the Online Catalog to find:

  • books
  • e-books
  • course reserves
  • magazines, journals, and newspapers
  • government documents
  • audiobooks
  • videos/dvds/cds

When you search the catalog the default search is a Keyword Search.

When you know exactly what you want you can search by Author, Title, Subject, Course #/Title and Instructor by using the drop down arrow.

When doing an Author search, use the last name followed by a comma, first name or initial.

When doing a book title search, leave off "a", "an" or "the" if it is the first word of the title.

Call Numbers

Bluford Library uses the Library of Congress classification system to organize and arrange books.

When you search our catalog for books, you will get 3 boxes on the results screen: Location, Call Number and Status.

You will need both... the Location and Call number to fine a book in the library.
